Things you will do:

• Design and implement low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
• Write reusable, testable, and efficient code
• Inspire, lead, and mentor fellow engineers
• Promote software and data security best practices
• Collaborate with team members to plan and launch new features
• Be accountable for ensuring code integrity/test coverage
• Participate in scrum sessions and product reviews
• Perform peer code reviews

What we are looking for:

• At least 7 years of professional experience creating backend services using Python or Node
• Extensive relational (mySQL, Postgres) and noSQL (Dynamo, Mongo) database experience
• Extensive experience designing serverless & event-driven applications with AWS
• Experience leading and mentoring software engineers
• Demonstrated an ability to work well in fast-paced teams
• Proficiency in code versioning tools such as Git
• Experience with agile software development practices
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (AWS CDK, Pulumi, etc) a plus
• Experience implementing CI/CD workflows a plus
• Experience configuring automated build tools (Bazel, Pants) a plus
• Experience working as part of a distributed team a plus
